    WebComm Technology: Crafting Smarter Businesses

Glen Lien, General Manager, WebComm TechnologyGlen Lien, General Manager
A smart and adaptive enterprise is the answer to the ever-changing market requirements and customer preferences. Invariably, organizations are on a continuous quest to implement newer and innovative solutions that bring in the much-needed operational resilience to their business processes. A similar pursuit of KGI Bank ended when it opted for WebComm Technology to streamline banking operations through IBM RPA. KGI Bank struggled to manage day-to-day operations such as internal IT processes, and numerous order reviews; these activities also consumed an exuberant portion of the workforce. As a result, the related employees spent over 50 percent of the working hours in handling routine activities. To address these constraints, WebComm Technology—an IBM solutions provider—assisted the client in deploying IBM RPA that increased productivity of their workforce as it automated repeated routine activities. The overhauling of employee productivity through RPA allowed KGI bank to save manpower on a daily routine by over 90 percent (from 4.6hr to 0.3hr a day), highlighting its efforts in helping clients reap the rewards of IBM’s suite of solutions.

WebComm Technology leverages its 20 plus years of partnership with IBM to deliver professional services and build smart companies with innovative solutions such as AI augmented analytics, cloud computing, platform integration, system optimization, and agile development. The organization’s portfolio encompasses fintech, public services, and manufacturing expertise that assist firms in exploring new business opportunities and gaining competitive advantages in the market.
WebComm Technology also offers the IBM Cloud Private to provide enterprises with a more secure and flexible options to build services and new applications. This empowers financial services firms of Taiwan, which are not allowed to move or build their services onto the public cloud. Hence, IBM Cloud Private makes itself a perfect alternative for companies. “IBM solutions help mitigate the impact our clients suffer from rapid industry changes,” adds Glen Lien, General Manager of WebComm Technology.

The partnership between IBM and WebComm Technology commenced when Lien had participated in the development of the very first SET payment gateway in Taiwan, a year before the full-fledged establishment of WebComm Technology in 1998. Ever since, the firm has emerged as a trusted supplier of IBM and is the first organization in the Greater China region to be accredited as the IBM WebSphere Application Server Gold Accreditation Partner. This collaboration with IBM has fueled Webcomm Technology’s business and revenue growth; in fact, the MobileFirst platform of IBM alone accounts for around 20 percent of the revenue growth for the company. Thus, WebComm Technology continues to uphold this alliance and maintain its position in the market by helping various clients enter the open banking age with IBM API connect and IBM Robotic Process Automation (RPA).

Proficient at assisting companies in achieving digital transformation through IBM MobileFirst and API Connect, WebComm enables various industries to digitalizes corporate portals through web content management, manage services through API Connect, and develops mobile applications through IBM’s MobileFirst platform. WebComm Technology also offers almost every IBM solution ranging from WebSphere Application Server to MQ, business process management (BPM), and IBM APP Connect in order to fulfill various digitalization needs. In addition to its IBM certifications, the firm has been recognized by blue chip companies such as Oracle, CA, Tibco, and others for software development and project management capabilities.

Through these developments, WebComm Technology intends to expand its footprints across Asia by exploring opportunities in Hong Kong, Shanghai and Singapore. This would act as a bridge between several south-east Asian markets for the firm to showcase its proficiency and assist organizations in streamlining business process. “We are committed to providing cloud-based applications and artificial intelligence (AI) solutions to mitigate organizations’ day-to-day challenges through IBM solutions,” concludes Lien.
