Retarus: Supporting Businesses with IBM WebSphere MQ and IBM Notes/Domino

Oliver Prevrhal,Managing Director, RetarusOliver Prevrhal, Managing Director

As IT organizations move towards highly integrated enterprise applications, it is becoming increasingly important that the underlying messaging infrastructure provide the reliability, scalability and performance required to meet the business demands. In fact, Enterprise Messaging Services (EMS),an industry proven technology,is fast making inroads into business applications. It’s a bridging technology that provides global availability, enables the swift and simple filtering and prioritization of information, and also ensures success of communication-based internal processes.Visualizing this rising demand,Martin Hager incepted Retarus in 1992 to provide seamless B2B communications to bolster business processes that would efficiently and securely manage the flow of information for enterprises.

As a leading provider of managed cloud services for email, fax,SMS and EDI, Retarus offers secure and innovative services concerning Desktop Communications, Email Security and Archiving, Application Integration and Content Delivery Platform. It also offers cloud services for IBM WebSphere MQ and IBM Notes/Domino. Retarus’ Fax solution for Notes allows customers to send faxes directly from Lotus Notes via Retarus’ fax cloud. As a result, companies can operate businesses without investing in fax hardware, software, maintenance, licenses and lines and a dedicated fax server. This client-based application is easy to integrate with many Notes applications and does not require any changes to the mail templates. In fact, customers can compose faxes without connecting to the Domino server and interfering with server tasks.

Incepted in the early 90’s, Retarus is one of the first few Lotus Premium Partners to specialize in sales, consulting and operation of the LAN-based email system cc:Mail. Additionally, it has beenthe first service provider to offer 24×7 monitored communication services. Presenting strong project skills, customization and integration capabilities for midsized and large enterprises, the company delivers services from its own data centres with regional processing in accordance to SLAs. Oliver Prevrhal, Managing Director, Asia, said, “Retarus is a customer driven and extremely agile organization that in order to meet customer requirement is constantly engaged in innovation and new feature developments.” The company’s reliable and secure communication services for IoT/M2M/Industry 4.0 applications cater to multiple industries like healthcare, manufacturing, ICT, retail and wholesale, logistics, banking and automotive. Among its elite customers are: Agoda, Adidas, Bayer, BT, DHL, Honda, and Mitsubishi.

Retarus is a customer driven and extremely agile organization that in order to meet customer requirement is constantly engaged in innovation and new feature developments.

An example of Retarus’ strong services is their association with DSGVthe German association of savings banks. Retarus implemented two services—RetarusFax-to-email and RetarusMail2Fax—to offer them the flexibility of handling both email and fax functionality, which was earlier missing. Retarus Mail2Fax allows users to send faxes from their email software, while RetarusFax-to-email sends faxes to the Retarus’ data centres where they are processed and forwarded to the intended recipient’s mailbox. Retarus E-Mail Security means that every DSGV email account has 24/7 antivirus and anti-spam protection.

This Munich, Germany headquartered company has been honoured with several coveted awards: Bayerns Best 50 in 2012 and2015, Europe’s Top 500 and TeleTrust Initiative “IT Security Made in Germany”. The organization has seen a 15.4 percent growth in year-on-year revenue. The strong growth of e-commerce in Asia-Pacific region served as an impetus for Retarus to enter the online business sphere. Presently, the company is meticulously planning to expand its reach into the APAC region and conquer the markets in Singapore, Malaysia, Indonesia, Philippines and Australia.
